Returning to Our Original State of Goodness and Positivity: Looking Within for Lasting Peace
The journey back to goodness begins not by seeking happiness from others, but by reconnecting with the Supreme Soul and rediscovering the peace, love and positivity that are the soul’s original qualities.
A recent spiritual message from the Brahma Kumaris emphasises that true goodness and positivity cannot be sustained by seeking approval, love or happiness from the outside world. Instead, it encourages individuals to reconnect with their original spiritual nature by drawing strength from a higher source of peace and positivity.
According to the message, human beings often search for happiness in external relationships and circumstances, even though the qualities they seek already exist within. It compares this to the musk deer, which searches for the source of a beautiful fragrance that actually comes from within itself. Similarly, every soul possesses innate qualities such as love, peace and happiness but gradually loses awareness of them.
The message explains that over many births, these spiritual treasures diminish as individuals develop negative sanskaras—deep-rooted personality traits and habits formed through repeated actions. As these incorrect characteristics become part of one’s nature, they gradually reduce inner happiness and emotional stability.
The Brahma Kumaris teach that the way to restore these original virtues is by connecting with the Supreme Being, described as the Supreme Soul and the eternal parent of all souls. Through spiritual remembrance and self-awareness, individuals can draw divine qualities from God, who is regarded as the eternal source of peace, purity, love and wisdom.
According to the message, this spiritual connection helps individuals become internally rich, allowing them to gradually regain the positive qualities that formed their original nature before entering the physical world.
The message also presents this period as a time of spiritual transformation. It says humanity is currently on a “return journey,” where souls are preparing to return briefly to the soul world before beginning a new cycle of birth and rebirth. This period of spiritual rest, it explains, enables the soul to renew itself before once again entering a world of actions, relationships and responsibilities.
“This is the rest the soul needs before coming down in the world full of actions, interactions and relationships.”
Rather than viewing life solely through a physical lens, the Brahma Kumaris encourage people to see this journey as an opportunity for self-renewal, reminding them that lasting happiness begins by reconnecting with the goodness that already exists within.
